Odisha Records Lowest Inflation Rate in June

August 14, 2025 – Odisha has recorded one of the lowest inflation rates in India for June 2025, with rural inflation at 0.46% and urban inflation at 0.64%, well below the national averages of 1.72% and 2.56%.
The low inflation is credited to stable food prices, effective government interventions, and strategic management of buffer stocks for essential commodities like pulses and onions. The state’s Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) has played a key role in maintaining affordability for consumers.
Officials note that Odisha’s proactive monitoring and timely release of commodities helped control price volatility, while other states, including Kerala, saw significantly higher inflation.
Implications:
- Ensures affordable essentials for residents.
- Signals economic stability and investor confidence.
- Offers a model for other states on controlling inflation effectively.
