Tourism & Heritage Projects Driving Odisha’s Economic Growth
Odisha is fast emerging as a tourism and heritage hub, with major projects boosting the state’s economy. The Deomali Peak facelift (₹50 crore) will add roads, shuttle services, food plazas, and eco-friendly cultural spaces, aiming for completion within two years.
The Cuttack Chandi Temple redevelopment (₹70 crore) is restoring the 11th-century shrine with traditional craftsmanship under expert supervision, set for completion by March 2026.
In Puri, the Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor enhances pilgrim movement, facilities, and security, reinforcing the city’s global spiritual appeal.
With over ₹8,000 crore in tourism investments, Odisha is expanding resorts, adventure tourism, and eco-retreats across key destinations like Puri, Konark, and Chilika.
These initiatives not only preserve culture but also generate jobs, attract global visitors, and position Odisha as Asia’s leading eco-cultural tourism destination by 2047.
